  1. I know this is asking a lot and you may not want to answer this for personal reasons but would you mind talking about your college transfer experience? Like the reasons why/how you knew and the actual process itself (how did you start, was it difficult, what it required, ect.)? I go to a huge party school in california and although i thought it was my dream school I'm miserable and am highly considering transfering but am scared :(

I transferred for a ridiculous reason and didn’t realize why I did it until it was all over.

A lot of it factored into it, but ultimately I was in a relationship at the time and freaked out being so far away from home. I’ve always been a home body so being at a place that’s completely different than I’m used to made me panic and I didn’t even give myself a chance to settle. Best advice is to wait it out. I regret leaving ASU and miss it everyday, but it still like ole miss. You have to make sure leaving is the best option and that the reason for leaving is a legitimate one for you. Don’t leave for a friend, relationship, homesickness bc it all takes time and I’m just an idiot and way too spontaneous for my own good.

I knew about transferring because I just researched about it. It’s a lot easier than you think but you HAVE to make sure your school will take your credits towards your MAJOR and not just credit hours as a whole. It will set you back so far (I’m paying for it).

You apply just like your applied for your school in Cali.

It’s def scary and hard going into a place where everyone already has their groups but my second semester at ole miss I was already settling in. It’s going to be hard at first for sure, but if it’s where you want to be you’ll make it work.

Every school is party school you just have to find your own people. You don’t have to party all the time. It’s just all about who you surround yourself with.

Make sure you leave for the right reasons, join like a sorority or group bc that changed my life (so easy to meet people), and make sure everything transfers over.

It’s not worth being miserable for 4 years!! You’ll be fine I promise!!
